The German law for the priority of renewable energy sources, named in the Summary familiar Renewable Energies Law (EEG), is designed to promote under the legal definition of § 1 par.1 "the advancement of technologies for generating electricity from renewable sources".
It serves the climate and environment, and is one of a series of statutory measures to reduce dependence on fossil fuels like oil, natural gas or coal and nuclear power should be reduced. The program supports the production of electricity: hydropower, landfill gas, sewage gas, biomass, geothermal, wind and solar radiation energy (for Exsemple, photovoltaics).
